Behind The Brand

Inspired by '90s/early 00's culture and humble beginnings in Rotorua, New Zealand and Blacktown, Sydney, RILLA HAUS was founded by two siblings with a shared love for everything '90s/early 00's.

The idea for RILLA HAUS began in 2013 as a hobby, selling American sports jerseys online. In 2019, RILLA HAUS officially launched with a focus on creating timeless pieces inspired by culture, home and heritage.

Home & Heritage

What started as an idea in 2019 to represent home through a collection of small embroidered country flags on clothing quickly turned into the beginning of a new wave of cultural representation across apparel and modern fashion.

Born from the experience of being Māori living in Australia, we were constantly asked where we were from and created a subtle way for people to represent their home & heritage through clothing.

From this came two of our most popular collections to date: Homage and Homestate.

Behind The Name

Rilla Haus, in short, means Strong House.

Rilla - Short for gorilla, represents the strength, fearlessness, leadership and gentleness of our family, supporters and community.

Haus - German for house, represents the brand as a home that brings us all together.
